Restaurants, frequently seen as prized ventures for film stars and celebrities, can generate substantial revenue. However, some establishments face closure, often due to financial difficulties or legal issues. Shilpa Shetty’s popular Mumbai restaurant, Bastian Bandra, is closing this week. The high-end restaurant, co-owned by the actress and restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, has been a favored spot for food enthusiasts and celebrities. Shilpa and her husband Raj Kundra are involved in a controversy, with accusations of defrauding over Rs 60 crore in a loan-cum-investment deal between 2015 and 2023. A fraud case was filed against Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra by businessman Deepak Kothari. Kothari alleges they defrauded him of over Rs 60 crore through a loan and investment scheme linked to Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd. The couple’s lawyer denies the allegations, stating they are baseless and the matter is civil in nature, previously addressed by the NCLT Mumbai. Shilpa Shetty announced the closure on social media, sharing an emotional note about the end of an era and plans for a special farewell event.
