Synergy is Key: Army Chief Highlights Joint Operations’ Strength

Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi underscored the critical role of synergy within India’s armed forces, using ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a prime illustration. Speaking at the commissioning of INS Mahe, a new generation of indigenous shallow-water combatants, Dwivedi emphasized that coordinated capabilities across all domains are paramount for national security. He stated that in the current era of multi-domain operations, India’s capacity for unified action, from the ocean’s depths to the highest mountains, will define its security influence. Operation Sindoor, a targeted military action against terror infrastructure in Pakistan following an attack in April 2025, perfectly exemplified this integrated approach. Dwivedi highlighted how the Army, Navy, and Air Force form a strategic trinity, with jointness and integration as core pillars of the Indian Army’s transformation initiatives.
