A dispute over a rangoli in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, quickly escalated into violence. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed the incident in Yavatmal, stating the need to investigate potential conspiracies and those attempting to disrupt social harmony. He questioned whether there was an effort to polarize the situation, similar to what occurred during the Lok Sabha elections. Fadnavis emphasized that everyone has the right to practice their religious customs, but creating tension among people is entirely wrong.

Following the violent demonstration, Ahilyanagar police detained 30 individuals. Law enforcement also resorted to a mild lathi charge to control the situation. The incident began around 7 am today. The controversy arose from a rangoli created during the Navratri festival, which contained objectionable elements against the Muslim community.
