    The festival of Navratri, dedicated to the worship of Maa Shakti, begins today. New GST rates have come into effect across the nation starting today. Consequently, the prices of many items will decrease. There will now be only two tax slabs in the country (5% and 18%). A 40% tax will be levied on harmful products such as alcohol and tobacco. Prior to the implementation of the new GST rates, PM Modi addressed the nation on Sunday. During his address, he emphasized GST reforms and indigenous products. He stated that after the new rates are in effect, 99% of items will be subject to only a 5% tax. The BJP will conduct a GST savings celebration campaign across the country from September 22 to September 29. All BJP MPs will undertake foot marches in their respective constituencies.
