Toll collection has commenced on the 71-km Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway in Karnataka. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) initiated toll collection on Thursday, September 4, on the stretch from Hedigenbale (near Hoskote) to Sundarpalya (near KGF). Motorists are now required to pay tolls for using the expressway. The toll for cars is Rs 185 for a one-way trip from Hedigenbale to Sundarpalya and Rs 275 for a round trip. For travel from Sundarpalya to Hedigenbale, the one-way fee is Rs 190 and a round trip costs Rs 280. Other vehicles, including LCVs, LGVs, minibuses, trucks, and buses, will be charged up to Rs 955. There are four toll plazas located along the route: Hedigenbale, Agrahara, Krishnarajapura and Sundarpalya. Fastag users with an annual pass of Rs 3,000 can also utilize the expressway. The expressway is designed for a maximum speed of 120 kmph, with the Karnataka section currently operational. The full corridor is expected to be completed and fully operational by July 2026. Monthly pass rates for cars are set at Rs 6,105 for 50 one-way trips and Rs 6,260 for round trips.
