Those with outstanding traffic challans have an opportunity to resolve them at the Lok Adalat on September 13th, 2025, potentially saving on fines. Certain traffic violations will be eligible for significant discounts. To participate, online registration is mandatory to secure a token number and appointment letter. Individuals without these documents will not be able to have their cases heard.

To register for the Lok Adalat, visit the NALSA (National Legal Services Authority) website and select the Lok Adalat registration option. Complete the application form, upload the required documents, and submit. A token number and appointment letter will be sent via email or phone, specifying the date, time, and location of the hearing.

On the hearing day, original documents, the token number, and the appointment letter are required. Attendees are advised to arrive at least an hour before the scheduled time. The Lok Adalat offers relief for several minor violations, including driving without a seat belt or helmet, red light violations, mistaken challans, speeding, lacking a valid PUC certificate, improper parking, driving without a license, lacking a fitness certificate, driving in the wrong lane, ignoring traffic signals, and driving without a number plate.

However, certain serious offenses will not be considered, including drinking and driving, hit-and-run cases, deaths due to negligence, illegal racing or speeding, driving by a minor, vehicles used in criminal activities, cases already under trial in court, and challans issued from other states.

The hearing process will follow the token number sequence. The judge may review the challan and waive or discount the fine. For serious or repeated violations, a fine might be imposed. After the order is passed, the case will be closed.
