In a gut-wrenching incident that has shocked Telangana, a seven-year-old student heading to Army School lost her life after her scooter collided with a military truck near Secunderabad’s Trimulgherry area. The Wednesday mishap left her mother fighting for life in hospital.

Eyewitnesses recounted how the scooter suddenly lost balance on the RK Puram flyover, leading to a fatal impact with the army truck trailing behind. CCTV footage reveals the horrific moment the child’s body was run over by the truck’s wheel, a sight that has left locals reeling.

The victim was a Class 1 student, accompanied by her mother on the routine school run. Her father, an army personnel deployed in Jammu and Kashmir, is yet to be informed of the tragedy. Nerredmet police swiftly arrived, filing charges and poring over video evidence to reconstruct the accident.

The sorrow deepened as news broke of another crash in Hyderabad’s Begumpet flyover, where a speeding taxi flipped after hitting a barrier, injuring three occupants. The flyover was choked with traffic until police intervened, ferrying the wounded to medical care. Preliminary findings point to reckless driving amid peak hours rush.

Across the border in Andhra Pradesh, panic gripped Kakinada when a chemical-laden tanker overturned into an agricultural canal at AV Nagar. The spill threatened water supplies to nearby villages, prompting swift administrative action. Pumps were halted, and public warnings issued against consumption, with cleanup operations underway to mitigate pollution risks.

As families grapple with unimaginable grief, these incidents highlight glaring road safety gaps—from slippery flyovers to overloaded chemicals transports. Enhanced surveillance, driver training, and infrastructure upgrades are imperative to avert future calamities on India’s bustling roads.
