Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha announced that Assembly Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen experienced a brain hemorrhage at the Agartala Railway Station. Sen, who was en route to Dharmanagar by train, suddenly fell unconscious in a restroom at the station. The 72-year-old was immediately transferred to Tripura Medical College (TMC) for medical evaluation, which confirmed a brain hemorrhage. Doctors have recommended immediate surgery. Sen has served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Dharmanagar constituency four times. He first won in 2008, representing the Congress party. In 2013, he retained the seat under the Congress banner. Later, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2017 and secured the Dharmanagar seat again in the 2018 election. He was re-elected for a fourth time in the 2023 assembly elections.
