Karnataka’s Chikkamagaluru police have apprehended two individuals from Telangana for their involvement in a multi-crore fraud. The suspects are accused of creating fake websites mimicking prominent temples like Sringeri and Annapoorneshwari, deceiving devotees out of substantial sums. Investigations reveal the fraudulent activities centered around special pujas and offerings. The police took action in response to persistent complaints regarding the scam, leading to the arrest of the two Telangana residents. The arrested individuals, identified as Sudeep and Anil Kumar, operated the fake website under the domain www.Devaseva.com. The police are now investigating the methods used, identifying other accomplices, and tracking the disbursement of the stolen funds. The authorities have appealed to devotees to exercise caution and verify information through official temple channels before making online transactions.
