Lucknow witnessed a pivotal meeting on Wednesday as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hosted a senior delegation from Japan’s Yamanashi Prefecture. Under the leadership of Deputy Governor Junichi Ishidora, the eight-member team engaged in fruitful discussions on bilateral cooperation.

Talks revolved around the robust India-Japan strategic alliance fostered by PM Narendra Modi and the budding synergy between UP and Yamanashi. In a warm reception, CM Yogi stressed the profound foundation of bilateral relations—built on mutual trust, disciplined governance, cutting-edge innovation, and sustainable progress.

The state, he noted, is steadfast in its resolve to operationalize this alliance at the grassroots level. Central to the agenda was the 2024 MoU between UP and Yamanashi, which promotes joint initiatives in green hydrogen, technological advancements, skill enhancement, and eco-friendly industrialization.

Highlighting UP’s leadership in renewables, the CM outlined dedicated excellence hubs for green hydrogen R&D and workforce training. The UP Green Hydrogen Policy-2024 stands as a beacon for investors, ensuring clarity, transparency, and ease of business, managed by UPEDA.

The delegation applauded the YEIDA green hydrogen pilot project’s commercial rollout, marking it as a breakthrough. They voiced strong enthusiasm for deeper involvement ahead.

Cultural dimensions enriched the dialogue, exploring Buddhist legacy and tourism linkages to bridge communities. Looking ahead, CM Yogi envisioned an empowered partnership driving advancements in clean energy, industry, tech, and heritage exchanges, setting a new trajectory for enduring ties.
