Uttar Pradesh voters get a full month extra to perfect their electoral roll entries as the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process accommodates surging applications. The final list drops on April 10, promising a flawless voter database.

Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa shared the update amid record filings: 37,80,414 Form-6 requests for additions and 82,684 Form-7 for removals by February 6. ‘We can’t let any eligible person lose their vote,’ Rinwa told reporters, justifying the extension to March 6.

First-timers dominate the influx, with many names absent from prior lists. NRIs can apply via Form-6A from abroad. Scrutiny revealed anomalies in 1.04 crore entries, triggering notices to 3.26 crore voters overall.

Progress is swift: 2.37 crore notices generated, 86 lakh served, and 30.3 lakh resolved. Full clearance by March 27 ensures timely finalization. BLOs stand ready daily at stations, underscoring the drive for a pristine, inclusive roll that leaves no voter behind in India’s most populous state.
