Uttarakhand CM Launches ‘Operation Kaalnemi’ to Combat Impersonation and Fraud

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered the implementation of ‘Operation Kaalnemi’ to address the issue of individuals impersonating saints and engaging in fraudulent activities. CM Dhami emphasized that those who exploit Sanatan Dharma for deceptive purposes and manipulate public faith will face consequences. The decision comes in response to a rise in cases where antisocial elements have been found deceiving people, particularly women, by masquerading as religious figures. The Chief Minister has instructed authorities to take strict action, ensuring that no one, regardless of their religious affiliation, escapes accountability for such actions. Dhami highlighted that such actions not only offend religious sentiments but also disrupt social harmony and tarnish the image of Sanatan Dharma. He compared these offenders to the demon Kaalnemi, who attempted deception under the guise of a saint. The state government is committed to protecting public sentiments, upholding the dignity of Sanatan culture, and maintaining social harmony, vowing to spare no one who spreads deceit in the name of faith. The Chief Minister noted that Uttarakhand, known as Devbhoomi, is home to innocent and simple people, and some individuals are exploiting this vulnerability by impersonating saints to deceive them. The police and administration have been directed to identify and arrest these elements under Operation Kaalnemi.
