Heavy rainfall continues to cause significant disruption across several states, leading to severe waterlogging and traffic problems. Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Assam, and Mizoram experienced torrential downpours on Wednesday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised residents to stay informed about weather conditions, issuing warnings for persistent showers in numerous states until August 30th.

Isolated instances of heavy rainfall are anticipated in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim through August 30th. Bihar and Jharkhand are also expected to face heavy monsoon rains on August 29th and 30th. Landslides and flash floods have severely impacted daily life in Himachal Pradesh, resulting in casualties. In response, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for rain in parts of Himachal Pradesh, including Solan and Simaur.

Torrential rains are forecast to persist in Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, and Haryana over the next seven days. Other regions anticipated to receive rain include Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab from August 30th to September 1st; West Rajasthan from August 29th to 31st; and Uttar Pradesh on September 1st and 2nd. Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is also likely across Northwest India. Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, and West Rajasthan will experience showers today, while Uttarakhand will see rain for the next week.

Heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Arunachal Pradesh from August 28th to August 30th. Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura will experience rain over the next seven days.
