Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered immediate action to grant legal land ownership rights to families displaced from East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and settled across various districts of the state. The Chief Minister highlighted the initiative as a way to honor the struggles of thousands of families seeking rehabilitation for decades. These families, who took refuge in India after the Partition, have faced significant delays in obtaining legal ownership of the land allotted to them. The government is now focused on addressing discrepancies in records, administrative hurdles, and other legal challenges to ensure these families receive the rights they deserve. This includes exploring alternative legal mechanisms to resolve long-standing issues and ensure social justice.
