Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ignited the Bihar assembly election campaign, targeting political opponents with sharp rhetoric during rallies. Speaking in Siwan, he criticized the RJD’s choice of candidate Osama Shahab, son of the late criminal strongman Mohammad Shahabuddin. Adityanath remarked that Shahab ‘lived up to his name,’ drawing cheers from the crowd. He accused the RJD, Congress, and Samajwadi Party of aligning with criminals and mafias, drawing a stark contrast by stating these parties would ‘bow at the tombs of rulers like Babur and Aurangzeb’ instead of honoring their own land. Adityanath also alluded to corruption by mocking the fodder scam, suggesting those involved would ‘swallow anything.’ He urged voters to prevent Bihar from reverting to an era of ‘jungle raj’ and emphasized a ‘bulldozer approach’ to governance, highlighting his administration’s zero tolerance for crime in Uttar Pradesh. The chief minister also touched upon the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, framing it as ‘cultural justice’ and accusing opposition parties of previously opposing its construction. He concluded by advocating for the continuation of the ‘double engine’ government, led by the NDA, to ensure Bihar’s ongoing progress and development, urging support for the NDA candidate in Raghunathpur.
