In a shocking escalation of violence, gunshots echoed through Oshiwara’s Nalanda Society in Mumbai, striking homes of a film writer-director and a model. The assailants fled after firing indiscriminately towards the building, leaving behind clear evidence of a targeted hit.

The second-floor apartment of Neeraj Kumar Mishra (45), known in writing and directing circles, bore the brunt alongside Prateek Baid’s (29) fourth-floor residence. Bullet holes punctured walls and furniture, but both occupants escaped unharmed—a stroke of sheer luck.

Responding within minutes, Oshiwara Police launched a comprehensive probe. ‘Bullets hit specific flats on floors two and four; no casualties reported,’ confirmed DCP Dikshit Gedam. Additional CP Paramjeet Singh Dahiya highlighted the recovery of two projectiles and damage to a wooden case, underscoring the precision of the assault.

Specialized units are dissecting the crime scene, from shell casings to ricochet patterns. CCTV scans aim to capture the gunmen’s movements and vehicle details. Heightened patrols now blanket the suburb, calming jittery locals who fear reprisals.

Residents recounted the chaos: children screaming, doors slamming, as the gunfire shattered the evening calm. Community leaders have petitioned for better lighting and cameras, citing recent spikes in similar incidents.

As Mumbai Police digs deeper, potential motives range from personal vendettas to industry rivalries. The department vows relentless pursuit, promising to dismantle any nexus behind this audacious bid. Updates expected as forensic reports emerge.
