In yet another stark reminder of road safety perils in Noida, a Jaguar carrying four young friends crashed disastrously into a canter truck on the Elevated Road under Sector-49 jurisdiction. The collision resulted in the immediate death of 19-year-old Falak Ahmad, with three others – Ayush Bhati, Neel Pawar, and Ansh, all 18 – sustaining severe injuries.
The group was en route from Bhangel to Agapur when the driver, in a bid to overtake the truck, veered out of control. The impact was catastrophic, reducing the high-end Jaguar (registration HP 11 C 6330) to wreckage. Rescue teams and police responded promptly, ferrying the injured to hospital where Falak was declared dead on arrival.
Chaos ensued as grieving relatives arrived, their wails echoing through the hospital corridors. Among the survivors, one is said to be on the brink, battling life-threatening wounds. Sector-49 police have launched an intensive search for the absconding truck, scrutinizing every CCTV frame from the vicinity.
This fatal mishap highlights Noida’s growing concern over elevated road accidents, often linked to excessive speed and poor judgment by young drivers. The vehicle occupants hailed from Sectors 47, 48, and 50, close-knit neighborhoods now shrouded in sorrow.
