Vidarbha etched their name in history by winning the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, their first-ever triumph in India’s premier domestic List A competition. The final showdown against seasoned champions Saurashtra ended in celebration for Vidarbha, thanks to a collective brilliance from five exceptional performers.

The final was illuminated by Atharva Taide’s masterful century as an opener, clinching him the Player of the Match award. This victory wasn’t a fluke; it was built on the shoulders of three prolific batsmen and two lethal bowlers who shone brightly across the tournament.

Aman Ravindra Mokhade topped the run-scorers’ list with a staggering 814 runs from 10 innings. His haul featured five hundreds and a fifty, averaging 90.44, with an unbeaten 150 as his peak. This opener’s dominance set unmatched standards.

In the middle order, Dhruv Shorey delivered 515 runs in nine digs, laced with two tons and a half-ton. Averaging 73.57 and peaking at 136, he ranked eighth overall, anchoring innings with poise.

R Samarth added 452 runs in eight innings over 10 matches, blending one century with three fifties. His contributions ensured depth and firepower in Vidarbha’s batting.

Yash Thakur led the bowling charge, securing 19 scalps in nine outings to finish fourth in the wicket charts. His final spell of 4/50 dismantled Saurashtra, showcasing raw pace and precision.

Nachiket Bhute chipped in with 18 wickets, his right-arm speed a constant threat. Together, these players not only propelled Vidarbha to glory but also highlighted the depth of talent in domestic cricket, promising exciting times ahead for Indian selectors.
