Australia has stormed into the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, achieving a resounding 10-wicket victory over Bangladesh. The dominant performance in Visakhapatnam saw openers Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield chase down the target of 199 with remarkable ease, securing their top spot in the tournament standings.

Healy was in spectacular form, smashing an unbeaten 113 off just 77 deliveries, her second century of the competition. Litchfield provided flawless support with an unbeaten 84, ensuring the chase was completed in under 25 overs. This emphatic win propelled Australia to nine points from five matches, solidifying their position at the summit of the ODI World Cup 2025 table.

Bangladesh had earlier posted 198/9, largely thanks to a resilient unbeaten 66 from Sobhana Mostary. Mostary’s valuable late-innings contribution, including crucial boundaries, pushed the team towards the 200-run mark. Rubya Haider also contributed with a steady 44, but the rest of the batting order struggled against Australia’s disciplined bowling attack.

Australian bowlers Alana King and Georgia Wareham were highly effective, each taking two wickets. Ashleigh Gardner and Annabel Sutherland also contributed with two wickets apiece, despite being slightly more expensive. Megan Schutt chipped in with a wicket, effectively containing Bangladesh despite Mostary’s determined efforts.

Bangladesh will next face Sri Lanka, while Australia aims to extend its unbeaten streak against England in their upcoming fixtures.
