The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has updated its allowance policy, impacting employee compensation and travel guidelines. These changes follow a streamlining of domestic travel policies. Previously, employees received Rs 15,000 daily for short-term travel (up to four days) and Rs 10,000 for longer trips related to the Indian Premier League (IPL), Women’s Premier League (WPL), and International Cricket Council (ICC) events in India. The single-visit conveyance allowance was Rs 7,500. Under the new policy, the casual allowance is removed, and employees are entitled to Rs 10,000 per day during travel. Daily allowance, excluding tax, is approximately Rs 6,500. An employee traveling for the entire 70-day IPL season will receive a daily allowance of Rs 10,000, with a maximum claim of Rs 7 lakh. Claims are adjusted based on travel duration, with a 60% allowance for reduced travel and no allowance beyond 40% if no travel occurs. BCCI employees receive $300 per day for foreign travel. Honorary officials such as the President, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President, and Joint Secretary receive $1000 per day on foreign tours. They also receive Rs 40,000 per day for one-day meetings in India and Rs 30,000 per day for multi-day domestic work trips.
