In a match that redefined wrestling excitement, Haryana Thunder defeated Delhi Dangle Warriors 5-4 to win the Pro Wrestling League 2026 crown. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, ex-chief of the Wrestling Federation of India, hailed the final as one of the most gripping contests in recent history.

Speaking from Noida, Singh emphasized the suspense that gripped spectators. The score remained deadlocked at 4-4 for much of the bout, with victory hanging in balance until the very last second. ‘This wasn’t your typical wrestling match where the winner is obvious from the start,’ he remarked. ‘The thrill persisted till the end, turning it into a masterpiece of competition.’

The Sunday night clash at Noida Indoor Stadium drew massive crowds, captivated by the intense rivalry. Singh celebrated the league’s triumph, linking it to India’s bolstered sports ecosystem. Over the last ten years, government initiatives have built world-class facilities, fueling wrestling’s ascent.

India’s wrestlers are shining brighter on global arenas, and Singh is optimistic. ‘Our track record is impressive, but expect even greater feats ahead. Wrestling offers India the best shot at piling up Olympic and world championship medals.’

Under PM Modi’s guidance, sports development has accelerated without interruptions. ‘Facilities keep getting better, empowering athletes to perform at their peak.’

PWL 2026 proves wrestling’s commercial and competitive viability in India, setting the stage for sustained excellence and international accolades.
