With the upcoming five-match Test series drawing near, discussions have sparked regarding Shubman Gill’s appointment as India’s Test captain. Given Jasprit Bumrah’s previous leadership during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, many anticipated his selection. Bumrah, however, clarified his decision not to take on the captaincy role. He stated that before the retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, he consulted with the BCCI and discussed his workload management for the series. Bumrah concluded it would be best if he didn’t take the role, as he would not be able to play all the matches.
