Champions Trophy 2025: There is not much time left for the Champions Trophy 2025 to start. This mega event of ICC will be played on hybrid model between 8 teams, because BCCI had refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan, after which it was decided that the Indian team will play its matches in Dubai. Just before this tournament, good news has come for two teams. Suddenly a big decision has been taken in the interest of Australia and Sri Lanka team.
Before the Champions Trophy 2025 to be held in Pakistan and Dubai, Australia had to play 2 Tests and one ODI match against Sri Lanka. Now keeping in mind the preparation of both the teams, an additional ODI match has been added. Meaning, one match extra has been given for both these teams. Due to which preparation will be better.
When will both the ODI matches take place?
The second Test between Australia and Sri Lanka will be played from 6 to 10 February. If this match continues till the fifth day then the combination of the ODI team can be challenging. After this, the first ODI will be played on January 12 at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, while the second ODI will also be played on the same ground on February 14.
Pat Cummins doubtful to play in ODI
The Australian team is in trouble for the Champions Trophy 2025, as captain Pat Cummins is suffering from an ankle injury. It is difficult for him to play in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Josh Hazlewood is not a part of the Test team, yet he has got a place in the Champions Trophy team. Australia’s first match in the Champions Trophy 2025 will be against England on 22 February.
