Coco Gauff secured her first French Open title on June 7th, marking a significant milestone in her career. The 21-year-old American tennis player delivered a stunning performance, overcoming World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling final on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Gauff emerged victorious with scores of 6-7 (5), 6-2, and 6-4, showcasing her resilience and skill.

This win is a pivotal moment for Gauff, particularly after reaching the final in 2022 but losing to Iga Swiatek. The French Open victory adds to her triumph at the 2023 US Open, where she also defeated Sabalenka. This match also served as a sweet revenge for Gauff, who had lost to Sabalenka in the Madrid Open final earlier this year. Their head-to-head record now stands at 6-5 in Gauff’s favor.

Furthermore, this victory represents Gauff’s first clay court title of the season, after runner-up finishes at both the Rome and Madrid Opens. This win cements her position as a leading figure in women’s tennis.
