England secured a dominant 3-0 series victory over the West Indies in the ODI series, with the final match at Taunton impacted by rain. Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt’s explosive 57* off 33 deliveries led the team to a nine-wicket win based on the DLS method. The West Indies remained winless across the six matches played, including three T20Is.

England’s opening pair consisted of Sciver-Brunt and Sophia Dunkley, with Amy Jones moving down the order and Tammy Beaumont rested. Dunkley’s quickfire 26 off 21 balls was followed by Sciver-Brunt’s performance, guiding England to the reduced target of 107 runs in 10.5 overs.

Alice Capsey, promoted to bat at number three, scored an unbeaten 20 off just 11 balls as England reached 109 for 1, securing the win and the series. A five-hour rain interruption reduced the game to 21 overs per side, aiding England’s chase.

West Indies, batting first under overcast conditions, faltered early. Kate Cross dismissed Realeanna Grimmond in the first over, followed by Em Arlott’s two quick wickets, leaving the tourists at 4 for 3.

Qiana Joseph and Aaliyah Alleyne contributed significantly, with Joseph scoring 34 and Alleyne hitting five boundaries in a score of 27 off 18. Sarah Glenn took three crucial wickets after the rain delay, including Joseph’s. The game was significantly affected by a five-hour rain interruption after 12.3 overs, with the West Indies at 43 for 3. Glenn and Charlie Dean bowled well upon resumption, Dean stumping stand-in captain Shemaine Campbelle.

Glenn’s bowling continued with the dismissals of Shabika Gajnabi and Joseph, while Lauren Filer and Alice Davidson-Richards also played key roles in the field.

England’s rotation policy allowed for the inclusion of Glenn and Dean, giving Lauren Bell and Linsey Smith a break. Arlott returned to the team after missing the last ODI and made a significant contribution. The victory highlighted England’s depth, while the West Indies concluded the tour without a single win.
