Arshdeep Singh’s rise reads like a cricketing fairy tale. From battling obscurity in domestic circuits to shattering records in T20 internationals, the young left-armer has scripted a story of grit and genius. He’s the first Indian male cricketer to reach the 100-wicket mark in T20Is, all while perfecting his death-over wizardry that leaves opponents scrambling.

What sets Arshdeep apart is his versatility. That left-arm skid from around the wicket, swing in the powerplay, and unerring yorkers at the death—it’s a potent mix. Hailing from Guna, Madhya Pradesh, he moved to Chandigarh for schooling and cricket training. At 13, he joined the Jaswant Rai Academy, dazzling at state levels but facing setbacks that nearly derailed his career.

Family considered sending him to Canada, but Arshdeep sought one more year. Fate intervened with a U-19 World Cup call-up in 2018, where India triumphed. IPL followed, with Punjab Kings giving him a debut contract. Limited games in 2019 gave way to dominance in 2021, where his death-over economy turned heads.

T20I debut against England: instant impact with 2/18. ODI breakthrough: 5/37 vs South Africa. Now, with 118 T20I wickets at 19.05 average, 97 in IPL, and solid ODI returns, Arshdeep is India’s bowling heartbeat. His milestones aren’t just numbers; they’re a testament to unwavering belief.
