India A has successfully secured a spot in the semifinals of the Rising Stars Asia Cup following a dominant six-wicket victory over Oman A in Doha. This crucial win propels the Jitesh Sharma-led squad into the final four, keeping their championship aspirations alive. Harsh Dubey emerged as the hero with a composed, unbeaten half-century, guiding his team through a challenging chase.

After facing a setback in their earlier match against Pakistan, India A needed a strong performance to advance. Their bowlers set the tone, restricting Oman A to a modest total of 135 for seven in their allotted 20 overs. Suyash Sharma was particularly impressive, delivering an economical spell of 2 wickets for just 12 runs. Gurjapneet Singh also contributed with two crucial wickets, while Wasim Ali’s fighting 54 was the lone significant contribution for Oman.

The Indian chase encountered early stumbles, with a couple of quick wickets putting them under pressure. However, Naman Dhir provided a much-needed impetus with a rapid 30 runs from 19 balls, ensuring the scoring rate remained healthy. The responsibility then fell on Harsh Dubey, who showcased remarkable maturity and skill. Promoted to bat at number four, Dubey crafted a superb, undefeated 53 from 44 deliveries, marking his maiden T20 fifty. Supported by Nehal Wadhera’s steady 23, Dubey steered India A comfortably past the target with 17.5 overs to spare.

This victory not only demonstrates India A’s resilience but also highlights their batting depth. They are now set to face the topper of Group A in the first semifinal on Friday. With Pakistan A also advancing, a potential blockbuster final between the two rivals on November 23 remains a distinct possibility if both teams win their respective last-four encounters.
