    In the opening Test match against England held at Leeds, India showcased a strong performance, with the visitors reaching 359/3. Captain Shubman Gill led the charge, smashing a century. At one point, Gill and his deputy Rishabh Pant were unbeaten, scoring 127 and 65 runs respectively. Earlier in the match, Ben Stokes secured the dismissal of centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal shortly after the final session resumed. India went into lunch at 92/2, with Gill still at the crease alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was nearing a half-century. The opening partnership between Jaiswal and KL Rahul added 91 runs in Headingley during the first session. However, England managed to end the session on a positive note by taking two wickets in quick succession. India’s debutant, B Sai Sudharsan, was dismissed after scoring a duck.
