The upcoming India versus Pakistan match is set to take place amidst lingering tensions from the Asia Cup 2025, where a post-match handshake dispute ignited controversy. Following the group stage match, the Indian team did not shake hands with the Pakistani players, leading to heated exchanges between the two nations. This incident even prompted threats from Pakistan to boycott the tournament, causing delays in their match against UAE. The controversy remains unresolved, and the teams are now gearing up for another encounter.

The next India-Pakistan clash is scheduled for September 21 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, following both teams’ qualification for the Super 4 stage. India advanced to the Super 4 after a strong performance in Group A, while Pakistan narrowly secured their spot. India currently tops the group standings, having won both their matches in the group stage.

Pakistan, having played all its group-stage matches, won two out of three games and lost one, finishing second with four points. UAE’s campaign ended after winning only one of their three matches. Oman is out of the race for the Super 4, having lost both their initial matches. They are set to play their final match against India.

In the group stage, India dominated Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan, batting first, scored only 127 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. India chased down the target in 15.5 overs, losing only 3 wickets. India is expected to have an edge in the upcoming match.
