The 2025 Asia Cup has begun with a strong start for both India and Pakistan. India defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 9 wickets in their opening match, while Pakistan secured a significant victory against Oman with a 93-run margin. These two teams are now set to face each other in Dubai on September 14th. Pakistan’s captain, Salman Agha, who was dismissed for a duck in the first match of the Asia Cup, has made a bold statement, asserting that his team is capable of defeating any opponent.

Following Pakistan’s win against Oman on September 12th, Salman Agha stated, “We have been playing good cricket for the past 2-3 months, and we just need to continue playing well. If we can execute our plans consistently, we can beat any team. The match against India will be a great contest.” He also mentioned the need for improvement in batting but praised the bowling performance, especially the spinners. He highlighted the variety each spinner brings and the good performance of Sam Ayub. Agha noted the importance of having spin options in UAE conditions, and the team’s good fortune in having several quality spinners.
