India Women’s World Cup Victory: No Parade Yet, BCCI to Plan Post-ICC Meet

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated that no official celebration plans, including a parade, have been finalized as of now. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the focus is currently on upcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) meetings in Dubai. “Nothing like a victory parade is planned as of now,” Saikia mentioned. He is scheduled to depart for Dubai on November 4th to attend these crucial meetings, with several other senior BCCI officials also heading there. Decisions regarding any felicitation ceremony or a potential victory parade will be made only after the delegation’s return to India. The ICC meetings are set to conclude by November 7th. In addition to scheduling post-victory events, the BCCI also plans to address the issue of the missing Asia Cup trophy, which has reportedly not yet been presented to the victorious Indian team. The Women’s World Cup campaign culminated in a spectacular fashion at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on November 2nd. India secured their maiden World Cup title by defeating South Africa by 52 runs.
