John Cena, a cornerstone of WWE for nearly two decades, is preparing to retire. With only ten matches remaining, the 48-year-old superstar is set to have his final match on December 13, 2025, culminating an illustrious career. Cena’s farewell tour has been marked by a mix of nostalgia, unexpected twists, and emotional moments for fans. His final year in the ring began with a near-win at the Royal Rumble and a victory in the Elimination Chamber, showcasing his enduring skill.

Fans were taken aback by Cena’s heel turn, a first in over twenty years, when he aligned with The Rock to betray Cody Rhodes. Although the storyline didn’t fully materialize, the moment became a viral sensation, remembered as one of the most shocking in his career. This heel persona led to a WrestleMania main event victory over Rhodes, earning Cena a record-breaking 17th World Championship, a feat once considered impossible. He then defended the title against rivals Randy Orton and CM Punk, and even formed a tag-team with Logan Paul, demonstrating his versatility.

Before SummerSlam, WWE reverted Cena to his beloved babyface role for a rematch with Rhodes. Although he was unsuccessful, this match set the stage for another blockbuster: a match against Brock Lesnar, who was returning after a two-year hiatus. Before the clash with Lesnar, Cena is scheduled to face Logan Paul at Clash in Paris on August 31. During a SmackDown appearance in Dublin, Cena expressed his emotions, receiving a massive ovation. He called Paul a “parasite” who uses WWE for his personal brand, and even knocked over Paul’s Prime Hydration Station. Cena admitted his biggest regret was not having the chance to face Dominik Mysterio, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, The Usos, and Jacob Fatu before retiring. As December approaches, the wrestling world prepares to bid farewell to an icon whose career has inspired millions and transcended the boundaries of professional wrestling.
