John Cena, a cornerstone of WWE for nearly two decades, is preparing to retire, with only ten matches remaining before his final bow. The 48-year-old Superstar’s last match is scheduled for December 13, 2025, concluding a farewell tour filled with memorable moments.

Since announcing his impending retirement at Money In The Bank 2024, Cena has embraced his final year, delivering a mix of nostalgia, shocking developments, and emotional displays. He narrowly missed winning the Royal Rumble in January and secured a victory in his Elimination Chamber swansong in March, showcasing his enduring prowess.

One of the most unexpected moments was Cena’s heel turn, a significant departure from his established persona, as he aligned with The Rock to betray Cody Rhodes. Though the storyline was not fully explored, it generated significant buzz and will be remembered as one of the most surprising events of his career.

This heel phase led to Cena’s WrestleMania main event victory over Rhodes, earning him a record-breaking 17th World Championship. He subsequently defended the title against long-time rivals Randy Orton and CM Punk, and even formed a tag-team partnership with Logan Paul, highlighting his adaptability.

However, WWE ended his heel run before SummerSlam, restoring Cena to his beloved babyface persona for a rematch against Rhodes. While he lost the match, it set the stage for another major confrontation – a showdown with Brock Lesnar, who returned after a two-year absence.

Before his match with Lesnar, Cena is scheduled to face Logan Paul at Clash in Paris on August 31. During SmackDown in Dublin, Cena expressed his emotions during his entrance, visibly moved by the fans’ applause. During a fiery promo, he criticized Paul, calling him a “parasite” who uses WWE for personal gain, before dramatically destroying Paul’s Prime Hydration Station.

Despite his bravado, Cena admitted his biggest regret: not being able to share the ring with Dominik Mysterio, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, The Usos, and Jacob Fatu before retiring.

As December approaches, the wrestling world anticipates the end of an era. John Cena’s farewell tour is a celebration of a career that has resonated far beyond the world of wrestling, inspiring countless individuals.
