Kuldeep Yadav Praises Shaheen Afridi Amidst Asia Cup 2025 Controversy

Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav, a star performer in the Asia Cup 2025, has surprised many by praising Pakistani player Shaheen Shah Afridi. Yadav, who has taken 7 wickets in two matches, lauded Afridi’s batting skills during a press conference before the Oman match. Yadav noted Afridi’s impressive performance in the last two matches, where he scored an unbeaten 33 runs against India with 4 sixes and an unbeaten 29 runs against UAE. Yadav emphasized that when on the field, the focus is solely on the batsman, irrespective of any controversies. He mentioned his good form and the suitability of the wickets for spinners, even better than the Champions Trophy wickets. He also revealed that he has been working on improving his batting. Regarding the England tour, Yadav shared that he was close to playing in four matches, but the team needed batting depth, which kept him out of the playing eleven.
