Former India captain MS Dhoni was among the audience at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Tuesday evening, witnessing Novak Djokovic’s US Open 2025 quarterfinal match against Taylor Fritz. Djokovic secured a victory against Fritz in four sets, with scores of 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, and 6-4, advancing to the semifinals. Dhoni was seen at the second men’s singles quarterfinal in New York. A photo and video of the match, featuring Dhoni, were shared on Instagram by businessman Hitesh Sanghvi. Djokovic, despite a reduced schedule this season, has maintained consistent performance, reaching at least the semifinals in all four Grand Slams. His next opponent will be Carlos Alcaraz, who he defeated in the final of last year’s Paris Olympics and in this year’s Australian Open quarterfinal. Djokovic currently leads their head-to-head record 5-3. Alcaraz, at 22 years old, has reached nine Grand Slam semifinals.
