Defending world champion and two-time Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra secured his place in the men’s javelin throw final at the World Championships. The 27-year-old athlete made an immediate impact, exceeding the automatic qualification standard of 84.50 meters with his first attempt. His impressive throw of 84.85 meters in Group A of the qualifiers ensured his spot in the final round.

Chopra, the first competitor to take to the field, solidified his position in the final with this single throw. He opted not to attempt any further throws. According to the competition rules, athletes who achieve or surpass the 84.50m mark, or finish among the top 12 performers, qualify for the final, which is scheduled for Thursday.
