Pakistan Champions delivered a dominant performance, securing a resounding ten-wicket victory against Australia Champions in the World Championship of Legends in Leicester. Saeed Ajmal’s exceptional bowling figures of 6 for 16 dismantled Australia’s middle and lower order. John Hastings’ disastrous over, consisting of an astonishing 18 balls, compounded Australia’s woes, effectively ending their innings and sealing Pakistan’s win.

Shoaib Malik’s decision to field first proved fruitful. Sohail Tanvir and Sohail Khan removed the openers early on. Despite a brief resurgence led by Ben Dunk (26) and Callum Ferguson, Australia’s innings collapsed. Ajmal’s masterful bowling, coupled with Imad Wasim’s contribution of 2 for 11, restricted the Australian batsmen, with only Dunk and Ferguson reaching double figures.

In response, Pakistan comfortably chased down the 75-run target. Sharjeel Khan and Sohaib Maqsood played with composure, rotating the strike and capitalizing on loose deliveries. Australia’s bowlers failed to pose a threat, and Pakistan required just 20 runs by the eighth over. Hastings’ chaotic over, filled with wides and no-balls, became a defining moment.

Captain Brett Lee expressed his disappointment, and Sharjeel remained unbeaten on 32, with Maqsood scoring 28 not out. Ajmal was named Player of the Match. The victory solidified Pakistan’s top position in the group stage, setting up a semi-final clash with India Champions, though the match is uncertain due to political tensions and India’s potential withdrawal.
