Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) President Ajinkya Naik has revealed that Rohit Sharma played a crucial role in persuading Yashasvi Jaiswal to remain with Mumbai in the domestic circuit. Initially, Jaiswal had requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to move to Goa. However, he ultimately decided to stay with Mumbai, and the MCA president shed light on the factors behind this decision.

Rohit Sharma reportedly advised Jaiswal to continue playing for Mumbai, emphasizing the prestige associated with representing a team that has won the Ranji Trophy a record 42 times. Sharma highlighted the role Mumbai cricket played in giving Jaiswal a platform to showcase his talent and ultimately earn a place in the Indian team. He stressed the importance of being grateful to Mumbai for the opportunities it provided.

According to Naik, Jaiswal consulted with other senior players and subsequently withdrew his request for an NOC. The MCA approved his request. Jaiswal recently concluded a five-match Test series against England, where he scored 411 runs with an average of 41.10, including two centuries.
