Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim shared his insights on the upcoming IPL Qualifier 2 clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). Karim believes MI holds a favorable position due to their momentum and strong bowling lineup. He also expressed hopes for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to win the IPL, highlighting the stellar performance of Virat Kohli. In 14 matches, Kohli has scored 614 runs, averaging 55.81 with a strike rate of over 146.

Karim also discussed India’s upcoming tour of England, emphasizing the opportunity for a young squad under newly appointed red-ball captain Shubman Gill. He praised the bench strength and the chance for young players to shine. The tour begins June 20th with the first Test at Leeds, marking the start of a new ICC World Test Championship cycle. Gill’s leadership will be crucial as the team faces England’s challenging conditions.

Karim further lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a talented batter from Rajasthan Royals, recognizing Suryavanshi’s impressive performance in IPL, including a record-breaking century. Suryavanshi played seven matches, scoring 252 runs at an average of 36.00 with a strike rate of 206.55.
