Indian men’s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have secured their place in the final of the Hong Kong Open Super 500, marking their first final appearance of the 2025 season. The world No. 9 duo showcased a dominant performance, defeating Chinese Taipei’s Bing-Wei Lin and Chen Cheng Kuan in straight games with scores of 21-17 and 21-15. This victory ends a streak of six consecutive semifinal exits this year, signifying a significant achievement for the pair. Their strategic net play, aggressive style, and composure in crucial moments were key to their success in the match, which lasted under 45 minutes. The upcoming final presents an opportunity for Satwik and Chirag to claim their first title of the year after a series of near misses. The final will be against the winners of the other semifinal match, either China’s Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang or the all-Taipei pair of Fang-Chih Lee and Fang-Jen Lee.
