Former Pakistani cricketer Saeed Ajmal has revealed a shocking incident involving a bounced check from the then-Prime Minister after the team won the 2009 T20 World Cup. Ajmal disclosed that the check, intended as a reward, was returned due to insufficient funds. The revelation has caused controversy amidst the Pakistan team’s recent performance in the Asia Cup, where they faced consecutive defeats against India. Ajmal shared his experience in a podcast, detailing how the team was promised financial rewards by the Prime Minister, Yusuf Raza Gilani, but the checks, worth 25 lakh rupees each, bounced. The team ultimately received their financial compensation from the ICC. The incident occurred after Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka in the 2009 T20 World Cup final.
