The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 lineup is now complete, with all 20 participating nations confirmed. India and Sri Lanka will co-host the prestigious tournament. The final three qualification spots were secured this week, with Nepal, Oman, and the UAE earning their tickets through the Asia/East Asia-Pacific Qualifier. This marks a significant expansion of the tournament, featuring a record number of teams.
Nepal will be making their third appearance overall and second consecutive in the Men’s T20 World Cup. Oman secures their fourth participation, while the UAE will feature for the third time and for the first time since 2022.
The 2026 edition promises an exciting showcase of T20 cricket. Italy is set to make its historic debut in the tournament, having qualified via the European Qualifier alongside the Netherlands. India, the reigning champions from 2024, will be looking to defend their title on home soil, as they join England and the West Indies as multiple T20 World Cup winners.
The tournament will adopt a familiar format, mirroring the 2024 event. Twenty teams will be divided into four groups of five. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eights, where they will be split into two groups of four. The semi-finals will then feature the top two from each Super Eights group.
