    The 79th Independence Day is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country. People are exchanging greetings, and athletes are also joining in the celebrations. Several prominent players from Team India, including Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya, have extended their wishes to the countrymen. The celebrations also brought back memories of the ICC T20I World Cup 2024. Rohit Sharma had a special year in 2025, gifting the nation the Champions Trophy, but also announced his retirement from Test cricket, leaving fans saddened.

    Rohit Sharma marked August 15th by sharing a picture on his Instagram page, where he is seen planting the Indian flag on the field. This photo was taken after the ICC T20I World Cup 2024 final, where India defeated South Africa. After winning the tournament, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from T20Is.

    Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder, also wished everyone in his own way. He shared a picture on his Instagram page holding the Indian flag. This photo was also from after the ICC T20I World Cup 2024 final. Young player Tilak Varma also shared a photo of himself playing a match on his social media account, expressing his honor in representing India.

    Ajinkya Rahane, a middle-order batsman for Team India, posted a picture on his official social media account, standing with the Indian flag. In his caption, he wished all the countrymen a Happy Independence Day. Ajinkya Rahane hasn’t been seen playing international cricket for India for quite some time.

    Cheteshwar Pujara shared a story on Instagram to wish people a Happy Independence Day. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also shared a story on his Instagram on this special day. Suryakumar Yadav also shared a story on social media.

    Team India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, posted on social media on Independence Day, writing, “My country, my identity, my life! Jai Hind!” Irfan Pathan also extended his wishes to all Indians on social media. He said that the freedom was hard-earned and it is the duty to keep it alive. Jai Hind!

    Team India’s batsman Shreyas Iyer, spinner Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal were also on the list, who wished everyone in their own way. August 15th is being celebrated with great fanfare across the country.
