Needing 102 runs from 40 balls to win, two English batsmen turned the game around, finishing the match in just 28 balls. During this explosive innings, the duo smashed 10 sixes, leading Nita Ambani’s team to a stunning victory with 11 balls to spare.

    Jordan Cox and Sam Curran Unleash a Six-Hitting Spree

    In the 23rd match of The Hundred League, Trent Rockets scored 171 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 100 balls. Chasing a target of 172 runs, the Oval Invincibles had a slow start. However, the arrival of Jordan Cox and Sam Curran changed the game, with runs flowing rapidly. These two batsmen added 96 runs in 42 balls, bringing the team closer to victory. Ultimately, Cox and Donovan Ferreira (14) scored quickly, securing a 6-wicket win for the team with 11 balls remaining.

    Jordan Cox, the 24-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman, remained unbeaten with 58 runs off 32 balls, including 4 sixes and 5 fours. Sam Curran played a blistering innings of 54 runs off just 24 balls, featuring 6 sixes and 2 fours. For Trent Rockets, Rehan Ahmed took the most wickets with two. David Willey and Ben Sanderson each claimed a wicket. Earlier, Trent Rockets had a strong start against Oval Invincibles.

    Trent Rockets’ Strong Start

    Batting first against the Oval Invincibles, Trent Rockets got off to a fast start. Tom Banton (9) and Joe Root added 55 runs in just 28 balls for the first wicket. After Banton’s dismissal, Root continued the innings with Rehan Ahmed (28), taking the team’s score past 100. Subsequently, the team’s innings faltered, but Joe Root continued to score rapidly from one end. He scored 76 runs off 41 balls, hitting 11 fours and 1 six.

    In the end, George Linde’s quickfire 25 runs off 8 balls, including 1 four and 3 sixes, helped Trent Rockets reach a score of 171 runs for 7 wickets in 100 balls. For Oval Invincibles, Rashid Khan and Tom Curran took two wickets each. Jason Behrendorff and Nathan Sowter each took a wicket.
