In a strategic shift prioritizing international preparations, Delhi will miss the services of rising stars Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya in their last Ranji Trophy Elite Group D fixture against Mumbai. The match unfolds Thursday at BKC Ground, where Mumbai rides high as group leaders already playoff-bound.

Delhi, languishing in sixth, aims to salvage pride and momentum before the season wraps. But national call beckons for Badoni and Arya, summoned to India A for T20 World Cup 2026 warm-ups.

First up, India A tackles USA in Navi Mumbai on February 2, then Namibia in Bengaluru on February 6. These encounters precede the marquee T20 event across India and Sri Lanka.

Badoni returns to India A colors after four-day and List A outings, while Arya builds on his white-ball exploits. Their inclusion signals selectors’ faith in youth for global challenges.

DDCA chief Ashok Sharma revealed Ayush Dossage, Delhi’s batting maestro and Ranji’s leading scorer, will captain the side. ‘Badoni and Arya are with India A for those warm-ups. Dossage takes charge,’ he affirmed.

Earlier this month, Badoni tasted senior team selection against New Zealand ODIs, replacing injured Washington Sundar, though chances eluded him.

Full Delhi lineup: Ayush Dossage (capt), Sanat Sangwan, Vaibhav Kandpal, Sumit Mathur, Pranav Rajvansh, Siddhant Sharma, Dhruv Kaushik, Rahul Dagar, Anuj Rawat, Divij Mehra, Aryan Rana, Mani Grewal, Rohan Rana, Rahul Chaudhary.

This reshuffle highlights the seamless transition between domestic and international commitments in India’s packed cricket calendar.
