The tech world is constantly evolving. Here’s a recap of the essential updates from this week. This includes the first public beta of iOS 26, GitHub’s Spark AI, a new update for ChatGPT, and a significant Starlink outage.

Apple has released the first public beta version of its new iOS 26 operating system this week. Previously, the company released four beta versions for developers, but now, general users also have the chance to experience the new Liquid Glass interface and other new features.

Public beta versions of iOS typically arrive in July to address initial bugs. They provide a preview of new iOS features to general users. These versions are considered more stable and safe compared to developer betas.

GitHub, a Microsoft-owned company, has launched a new AI tool called GitHub Spark. This tool allows users to create apps by giving instructions in natural language.

In this feature, you can choose between two AI models: the OpenAI GPT model or the Claude Sonnet model. Spark not only generates code but also runs it and shows you an interactive preview, which you can further refine.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has issued a warning, stating that people are increasingly using AI tools like ChatGPT as therapists, life coaches, or consultants. This is a serious concern because there is no legal framework in place to safeguard these types of conversations.

OpenAI’s next major model, GPT-5, may launch in early August. According to a report by The Verge, GPT-5 will have the power of unified reasoning capabilities for the first time.

Elon Musk’s satellite internet service, Starlink, faced a major global outage this week. Millions of people in the US, UK, Germany, Romania, and Zimbabwe, among other countries, were without internet for approximately 2.5 hours.

This is considered one of the longest outages in Starlink’s history. Surprisingly, this event occurred just after the company announced the new T-Satellite rollout in collaboration with T-Mobile to deliver signals to remote areas.
