Anthropic has unveiled its latest artificial intelligence model, Claude Sonnet 4.5. This new iteration demonstrates significant advancements over its predecessors, particularly in computer usage and addressing practical business needs. It also excels in specialized areas like cybersecurity, finance, and research. The Amazon-backed startup, valued at $183 billion, plans to make Claude Sonnet 4.5 available to all users.

The model is capable of generating higher-quality code, improving code identification, and more reliably following instructions. Anthropic was established in 2021 by former OpenAI researchers, leading to a competitive environment between the two companies. Claude Sonnet 4.5 will be the default model for users, and it is recommended for all applications. Paid subscribers can continue to use Opus, and users with specific workflows can opt for an older Sonnet version if they are not ready to transition to the new model immediately.
