Fraudsters have devised a new method to deceive people, now utilizing Captcha Codes as a means to scam. Many websites use Captcha codes to verify users, but scammers are using Captcha itself as a tool for fraud. Scammers are now using fake Captchas to spread malware like Luma Stealer into people’s devices.

This malware is capable of stealing data from your phones and computers. Users should be cautious while browsing, especially when visiting unknown websites, clicking on pop-up ads, or enabling browser notifications. Very often, a prompt appears on the screen stating ‘I am not a robot.’ Only after ticking this option does the box disappear, allowing you to proceed. Sites or search engines implement this code to verify that a bot is not visiting the site.

Fraudsters insert fake Captcha codes into hacked websites and phishing emails, and as soon as you use the Captcha code, malware gets installed on your system. Once it infiltrates your system, this malware steals your banking data and login details.
