The escalating competition between companies is akin to a fierce battle. Companies are employing all possible strategies to outmaneuver each other. OpenAI’s CEO, Sam Altman, recently alleged that Meta was attempting to lure OpenAI employees by offering substantial financial incentives. Altman claimed that Meta had offered $100 million to OpenAI employees to join their company.

Meta is lagging behind OpenAI and Google in the AI race, and Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly displeased with this situation. It appears Meta has begun to attract talent from its competitors through financial inducements to bolster its AI capabilities, and the impact is already becoming apparent. Following Altman’s claims, reports surfaced that Meta had hired three OpenAI employees.

According to a report in The Wall Street Journal, Meta hired Alexander Kolesnikov, Lucas Beyer, and Xiaohua Zhai, three senior researchers from OpenAI’s Zurich office. Media reports suggest that Sam Altman stated last week, “I’ve heard that Meta considers us their biggest competitor.” The hiring of three new OpenAI employees by Meta seems to corroborate this sentiment.

Meta is seemingly trying to assemble a super intelligence team. Once a leader in open-source AI, Meta has faced challenges in recent years, including delays in AI projects due to employee departures. Now, Zuckerberg is aggressively seeking top talent to strengthen their AI capabilities.
