    Google has officially confirmed its work on an Android-powered PC. Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon has stated he has experienced the device and is highly impressed. Rick Osterloh, Google’s Head of Platforms and Devices, explained that the project aims to unify the company’s PC and smartphone platforms, creating a common technical foundation. This initiative seeks to leverage Google’s AI advancements, including Gemini models and the Assistant, and to expand the Android ecosystem across computing categories. Amon described the device as ‘incredible,’ emphasizing its potential to converge mobile and PC experiences. The Android PC project is viewed as a crucial step in Google’s strategy to integrate ChromeOS and Android, promoting a seamless cross-device experience.

    In related news, Qualcomm is scheduled to unveil its latest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. This processor is expected to power numerous high-end Android smartphones in the near future. Xiaomi has already announced that its upcoming Xiaomi 17 series will incorporate the new chipset. Other anticipated smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 include the OnePlus 15, iQOO 15, and Realme 8 Pro.
